United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a resolution to launch an investigation on Israel-Palestine recent conflict. For this purpose a special session of 47 members held in Geneva last Thursday. China and Russia favoured this and UK, Germany were against it, While India showed a changed narrative this time from the last ones that were ” For Palestinian cause”. Anyhow the Resolution was accepted with 24 member’s votes.
India has shifted the cause towards Two Nation Theory for the very first time in last 3 years. It’s permanent representative to United Nations Indra Mani Pandey said at Geneva that New Delhi appreciates the efforts of international community to bringing upon ceasefire between Israel and Gaza. India asked international community to stay away from causing any kind of tension among both nations or propose any other possible solution to change the existing situation.
Mr. Pandey condemned the violence from both sides that took place during this conflict specifically at sacred places like Sheikh Jarrah and Al-Aqsa. India urged all the nations to provide humanitarian assistance at this time, they are also providing Palestinians with developmental and COVID-19 related assistance through United Nations.
India proposed that this conflict can be resolved only through dialogue and proper discussion without any kind of violence. International organisations and nations should play their productive role in it. This clearly shows the shift from “Just Palestinian Cause” towards Israel, the reason behind this statement is India’s growing diplomatic relations with Israel over the last year.
