Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen presented the “Budget for the Fiscal Year 21-22” in the National Assembly today. Major decisions were made to allocate resources to different sectors like health, education, defence etc. This year’s budget allocated 37% more to the Public Sector Development Programme as compared to the last year.
The government took a decision to increase the Federal Government Employees salary by 10%. Likewise, to minimise inflationary pressure on labourers and workers, the government has increased their salary to 20,000/- per month. Shaukat Tareen said that this increase in salaries would be applicable from 1st July 2021.
Apart from this, an increase in orderly allowance from Rs. 14,000 to 17,500 per month has also been proposed in the budget. The government took all these decisions to lessen the economic burden on the low-income class.
