PM Imran Khan very strongly gave his remarks in an interview with a Canadian news channel with reporter Rosemary Barton on the banning of hijab in the western world.
According to PM Imran Khan, “If a person is covering her head, why it has become such a huge issue?” He furthermore labels the banning of hijab as secular extremism claiming to be secular but extremist.
This banning of hijab breeds Islamaphobia where it still endangers the lives of Muslims living in the west. PM Imran Khan further stated that Muslim leaders should unite under one banner and rectify Islam’s image in western countries.
Islam is perceived very differently there. Pakistan’s Prime Minister continues to take a firm stance to battle against Islamaphobia as it’s seen in his UNGA speeches.
