In our society, when a university professor Is involved in a sexual harassment act, we find that the media hides his university and profession, but when a madrassah cleric is found guilty of doing the same crime suddenly whole Islam Is judged by the media.
Shouldn’t they both of being judged equally for committing the same crime? This is a double standard portrayed by our media and its regulators. “Crime has no religion,” said Mr Khalil ur Rehman Qamar and therefore shouldn’t be affiliated to one.
A crime is committed by a person and that person is to be judged and trialed on that basis, not the religion. In our society, we would come to witness that Madrassah videos spread like wildfire when it comes to sexual harassment, but on the contrary university professors are kept in hiding. Their real identity or profession is not openly displayed to the public.
