We Are Ready To Face Any Consequences But We Will Not Allow US Bases In Pakistan, Pakistan Military Leadership Gives A Clear Message

The Military leadership has said in the parliamentary committee on Thursday that Pakistan is ready to deal with any consequences but will not permit the United States to establish any military airbases on its soil. The closed-door meeting took place against the backdrop of Afghanistan’s precarious security situation, which could have devastating consequences for Pakistan.

A Parliamentarian said that Pakistan is not going to provide military bases to the US, nor are we going to fight their proxy war and we are ready to deal with the consequences of its decision. Moreover, the briefing also stated that “The US does not want peace in the region” while emphasizing the importance of establishing peace in Afghanistan for Pakistan. The US is once again leaving behind an unfinished job, added the Parliamentarian.

The Parliamentary Committee also discussed Pakistan’s strategy and the upcoming challenge in Afghanistan. According to the military authorities, Afghanistan’s future is bleak, and the committee was informed about the negative effects of the recent unrest in the neighbouring country.

US and military officials have already warned that a civil war in Afghanistan will have the greatest impact on Pakistan. The unrest will likely trigger a new wave of refugees, embolden terrorist groups, and pose a host of other challenges to Pakistan. It was also informed that the major concern would be new refugees flooding into Pakistan, which Pakistan would not be able to handle.

The military leadership further told that securing durable peace in Afghanistan is necessary for the establishment of peace in South Asia.
