The head of British Armed Forces, General Nick Carter, has said that Pakistani Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Jawed Bajwa is very genuine when he says he wants stability in Afghanistan.
The British military personnel spoke to BBC news about Pakistan’s approach to the Afghanistan issue and said that Pakistan has lived with the Afghanistan challenge for many years. He added that Pakistan has held more than 3 million Afghan refugees on their soil for almost two decades. He further said that Pakistan is totally invested in what the outcome would be regarding the current situation of Afghanistan.
Moreover, he praised the genuineness of Pakistani COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa about the Afghanistan peace process. He said he had no doubts that General Bajwa is very genuine when he says he wants a stable and moderate Afghanistan on his own border.
General Carter endorsed that stability in Afghanistan will contribute to the stability of Pakistan as well. He also upheld that the Afghanistan issue is very complicated and more a political problem that needs to be solved.
