At the invitation of the Afghan Taliban, Gen Faiz Hameed, Director-General of Pakistan’s premier intelligence ISI, visited Afghanistan to discuss the future of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Afghan Taliban are all set to announce their proper government, as after winning Panjshir valley, they don’t have any battle left to deal with on their land. The meeting will have fruitful results for Pakistan itself and also for the region as a whole because Pakistan has always been contributing to the Afghan Peace process from the beginning. It has been assisting the evacuation process of foreign nationals from Afghanistan along with managing the influx of Afghan refugees in the country. Pertaining to the takeover, Pakistan now has reliable allies that won’t allow anti-Pakistan activities on their watch.
On their ground, they have won undoubtedly, but they are focusing on maintaining their reputation across the globe and improving relations with their neighbors and superpowers. Thus, they are outstretching hands in hopes of achieving peace and harmony.
Meanwhile, the Indian government is also trying to approach the Afghan Taliban delegation in Qatar, but they are not getting any positive response because of their previous anti-Afghan policies.
