On Thursday chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa attended the commissioning of state of art HQ-9/P HIMADS (High to Medium Defence System) into Pakistan Army air defence, confirmed by the military.
Lieutenant General Hamoduz Zaman Khan briefed COAS Gen Bajwa about tactical weapon systems during his visit to the Army air defence system Karachi.
Inaugural of HIMADS will remarkably strengthen comprehensively layered integrated air defence shield of aerial frontiers of Pakistan. The military media officials said that HQ-9/P is contemplated as a strategic long-range surface-to-air missile (SAM) with extraordinary pliability and exactness capable of expropriating several air targets including aircraft, cruise missiles and far off visual range weapons at range over 100km will single-shot kill likely.
The officials said that the inaugural of the high-tech system will make Pakistan’s air defence inaccessible in the coming out threat. COAS said that the Pakistan-China strategic collaboration and defence coalition is the major element of stability in the region. Officials from China also attended the ceremony.
