In Multan, a woman was presented as a “hoor” (virgin of heavens) during the Milad procession on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal. In response to this, PTI member of the Punjab Assembly, Simabia Tahir submitted an adjournment petition to the Assembly.
A video went viral on social media where one can see that people are persuaded to pay a holy tribute to woman. In the petition, Simabia called upon the assembly to adjourn the activity of the assembly and direct its attention to this important issue.
The petition states that the events in Milad have been taking place in the region for centuries. The event took place in the Hussain Agahi region of Multan lowered the eyes of the entire Ummah. Such incidents seek to defame the principles of Islam and should have had strict consequences for this heinous act.
A wave of anger can be observed amongst the general public concerning this incident. One user wrote, “A woman is roaming like a model in Milad rally. Is it Islam?” Another user said such incidents distort the true spirit of Islam.
