Following the protest of fuel dealers across Pakistan, the Federal Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar clarified that government is in negotiation with the petroleum dealer association.
According to the Minister, few companies are pressurizing the government to increase their profit margin per liter. The proposed profit margin is Rs, 9 per liter which the consumer will have to pay.
Hammad Azhar also added the demand to increase profit margin will be discussed in Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), however, the government will accept legal demands but will not allow a rise in fuel price to benefit a few companies.
