Pakistan Army’s first female Lieutenant General Nigar Johar in an interview with an international news channel talked about her career as an army doctor.
General Johar said, being a daughter of an army officer it was her passion to join the army and she also wanted to become a doctor.
However, she added that the Pakistan army is purely a merit-based system and officers rose to the ranks because of their abilities, regardless what is their gender.
She also said women in the Islamic world have more rights, respect, and freedom. I feel blessed that I am in a Muslim world, she added.
