In an interview with Dr. Eric Li, the director of the advisory committee of the China Institute at Fudan University, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan stated some facts about the US-Pakistan relationship.
The premier said that the US has always used Pakistan, they used to build relations with Pakistan whenever they needed Pakistan. Pakistan used to become a frontline state for the US and after fulfilling their interests, Pakistan faced sanctions from the same US.
Imran Khan recalled the old days when US and Pakistan used to be good friends when the Soviet Union was in Afghanistan. Soon after the Soviet Union left Afghanistan, the US abandoned and sanctioned Pakistan, he added.
