Putin Tells Modi Not To Condemn Russia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday night entreated Russian President Vladimir Putin to give up the military operation with Ukraine and called for an instantaneous cessation of violence.

During a telephonic conversation, Modi urged for concerted efforts from all facets to return to the path of diplomatic negotiations and dialogue, a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office stated. As per credible sources, President Putin asked Modi not to take a side in this conflict by condemning Russia’s action in Ukraine

The release mentioned that the Prime Minister also sensitised the Russian President about India’s worries concerning the safety of the Indian citizens in Ukraine, specifically that of students, and conveyed that India attaches the best possible priority to their safe exit and return to India.
