Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov, while speaking Russian news agencies, has warned that the threat of World War III is real. The warning statement came ahead of a meeting among the United States and the allies for sending more weaponry to Ukraine.
The Russian foreign minister said that the risk of World War III is serious and could not be underestimated.
Russian invasion of Ukraine has triggered the Western powers’ support towards Ukraine. The Western nations have been supplying arms in support of Ukraine to help it in the war against Russian troops.
However, Western nations have been hesitant to deeply involve themselves into the war because of the fear of having a conflict against the nuclear-armed Russia.
