Yasin Malik’s Wife Writes Letter To Modi Seeking Her Husband’s Immediate Release

Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organization Mushaal Hussein Malik called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release her husband Yasin Malik, who is suffering from precarious health conditions in the Tihar jail in New Delhi.

Mushaal wrote to the Indian Premier Narendra Modi on Sunday that the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Yasin Malik should be released on health grounds and given a fair trial.

Due to the government’s callous attitude toward him and his hunger-to-death strike, which he ended after 10 days, she was alarmed that her husband was moving towards a slow death. She warned that the Indian state would be held liable if anything bad happened to the voice of the Kashmir freedom struggle.

Additionally, Mushaal praised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan for contacting the High Commission for the Republic of India in Islamabad regarding Yasin Malik’s rapidly deteriorating health condition.

Pakistan conveyed its deep dismay to the Indian diplomat about the Indian authorities’ attempt to implicate Yasin Malik in two more bogus cases based on events that occurred at least three decades ago.

Mushaal, in her letter to the Indian PM, demanded that her husband be released as soon as possible given his precarious health condition that grew worse after he engaged in a hunger strike on July 22.

She lamented the fact that Yasin Malik had been denied his lawful right to cross-examination and appearance in the ongoing trials, despite numerous pleas. According to her, Yasin Malik went on a hunger strike on July 22 due to the lack of legal recourse available to him.

As details reveal, Yasin Malik’s long-term illegal imprisonment, involvement in fictitious cases, brutal torture by Indian occupation forces, and worst forms of political victimization have all played a significant role in affecting his physical, mental, and emotional health.

As Yasin Malik’s health indicators have sharply deteriorated, Mushaal has urged the Indian government to provide him with urgent medical attention, release him from prison immediately, cancel his false conviction and withdraw all fabricated cases against him.
