Provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) has launched 13 new science and tech programmes under its Rs1.5 billion worth project called ‘KP Science Agenda’.The man behind the “KP Science Agenda”, Dr. Faisal Khan, who is also the PhD degree holder in Systems Biology from University of Oxford, addressed the participants at the launch event on 11 October, 2022.
Over 200 leaders from different research institutions, universities, startups, industry, the development sector and the government attended the event.One of the key aspects of the project is its sharp focus on three areas: advanced materials, biomedicine and space sciences.
“All three industries have the potential to reach trillion-dollar valuations in the next few years, and these industries would be the focus of the three-year pilot programme which would help “develop a critical mass of talent and infrastructure in the province,” Dr. Faisal says.
