This Day Marks The Anniversary Of Heroic Strike Of Pakistani Pilot Sajjad Alvi On Israeli Mirage Aircraft

Air Commodore Sattar Alvi is a highly esteemed fighter pilot who served in the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and is a veteran of the 1973 Arab-Israeli War. He is widely celebrated for his outstanding military achievements and bravery during his service.In a remarkable act of heroism in 1974, Air Commodore Alvi shot down an Israeli Mirage aircraft while piloting a Syrian Air Force MiG-21.

This remarkable feat made him the only pilot in history to have accomplished this rare accomplishment, which earned him great recognition and accolades.For his remarkable courage and bravery, the government of Pakistan awarded him the Sitara-i-Jurat, while the government of Syria bestowed upon him the prestigious Wisaam Faris and Wisaam Shujaat awards.

In recognition of his achievement, Air Commodore Alvi donated the flying coverall (suit) of the deceased Israeli pilot, Capt Lutz, to the PAF Museum as a symbol of his service and a tribute to his remarkable courage.

Air Commodore Sattar Alvi is an exceptional fighter pilot and a national hero, whose bravery and dedication to his country continue to inspire generations of aspiring military personnel.
