No doubt that Imran Khan is the popular leader, Says ECP Chief

Sikander Sultan Raja, the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, has recently dispelled speculations that had arisen regarding the possible exclusion of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and it’s Chairman Imran Khan from the upcoming electoral process.

In a formal statement, Mr. Raja not only addressed these speculations but also emphasized the widespread popularity and significance of Imran Khan, stating unequivocally,

ECP Chief Sikander Sultan Raja said, “There is no question that Imran Khan remains a prominent leader in our nation.”

He added that PTI’s election symbol will be there on the Ballot paper on Election’s day.

Chief Election Commission of Pakistan, Sikander Sultan Raja has dispelled the rumors regarding the possibility of keeping PTI’s out of the elections process.

The statement dispels the possibility of ruling PTI out of the elections process. Initially, it seemed that maybe PTI’s is going to be rules out of the election process. Many journalist and the party itself was of the opinion that maybe PTI will not be permitted to contest the upcoming elections.

This statement serves as a resounding declaration, putting to rest any doubts about PTI’s participation in the forthcoming elections.It is important to note that the general elections in Pakistan are set to take place on February 8, 2024.

Elections In Pakistan

The Supreme Court directed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to engage in consultations with President Dr. Arif Alvi to address specific concerns and decisions related to the electoral process.

Initially, the ECP had announced the date of February 11 for the upcoming elections. However, following a series of consultations and deliberations between President Arif Alvi and the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, the decision has been made to advance the election date to February 8, 2024.
