Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty to discuss the evolving regional situation amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
According to a statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the two ministers exchanged views on regional developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing escalation and promoting stability.
During the call, Abdelatty appreciated Pakistan’s “sincere efforts” for regional peace and stability. Both sides also reviewed matters related to a consultative forum involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt, along with coordination at the United Nations Security Council and other multilateral platforms.
The discussion also covered recent diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, including Pakistan’s facilitation in the repatriation of 11 Pakistani and 20 Iranian seafarers who had been aboard vessels seized by the United States and were later returned via Singapore.
Abdelatty reportedly commended Islamabad’s role in assisting the safe return of the crew members, describing it as a constructive contribution to ongoing regional cooperation efforts.
