A judicial magistrate in Karachi on Friday ordered the transfer of Anmol Pinky to jail on judicial remand in connection with over 16 cases registered against her, according to ARY News.
Anmol alias Pinky, widely known as the ‘Cocaine Queen,’ was arrested earlier this month from her residence in Garden, Karachi, during a joint raid by police and a civilian intelligence agency. She was initially held in two cases involving possession of narcotics and an unlicensed weapon. However, subsequent investigations revealed her alleged involvement in a broader drug trafficking network, leading to the registration of multiple additional cases across different police stations.
During the hearing, the prosecution argued that Pinky’s continued detention was necessary for the ongoing investigation, citing the recovery of incriminating evidence from her mobile phone. The defense counsel opposed the remand, claiming a lack of concrete evidence. After hearing arguments, the judicial magistrate remanded Pinky to judicial custody, transferring her to jail until the next hearing.
In a related development, Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested two suspects in Punjab linked to the same case. According to sources, the suspects are Nigerian nationals allegedly connected to an international drug trafficking network operating in Lahore. Investigators said the arrests followed analysis of data recovered from Pinky’s mobile phone, which indicated links to a larger narcotics syndicate.
The case has drawn widespread attention, with authorities vowing to dismantle the network. Pinky’s arrest is seen as a significant step in Pakistan’s efforts to curb drug trafficking, especially in urban centers like Karachi and Lahore. Legal proceedings are ongoing, and further arrests are expected as the investigation widens.
