Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan once again dispelled rumours regarding US bases in Pakistan for future operations in Afghanistan against Afghan Taliban and other groups.
PM Khan was being interviewed by Jonathan Swan of HBO Axios. The interview will be aired on Monday at 3:00 am PST.
Jonathan asked whether Islamabad will allow the US to use military bases in Pakistan, he asked,
“Wil you allow the American government to have the CIA here in Pakistan to conduct cross-border counter-terrorism missions against Al-Qaeda, ISIS and Taliban.
“Absolutely not, “PM Khan replied.
There’s no way we’re going to allow any bases or any sort of action from Pakistani territory into Afghanistan. “Absolutely not .”
US government is trying to negotiate with Pakistan and others for future cooperation as US wants to have its role in the future despite leaving the region.
However, there is an absolute no from the government.
