The inflation bomb dropped on the public as the government announced an increase of 30 rupees in the prices of petroleum products. Finance Minister Miftah Ismail announced the decision in a press conference a few minutes ago.
The government of Pakistan is trying to get a deal finalized with International Monetary Fund. IMF demanded to increase the petrol prices that were subsidized until July by the previous government of Pakistan Tehreek E Insaf.
After the hike, petrol prices are nearly 200 as petrol reached 180. The prices of other products including diesel, light diesel, and kerosene oil have also increased.
