Islamabad High Court Declares Maryam Nawaz’s Conviction Illegal In London Property Case

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz’s conviction was declared illegal by the Islamabad High Court after four years. In 2018 Nawaz Sharif was awarded 10 years of jail Mariam Nawaz was awarded 7 years of jail after failing to provide credible evidence of their London properties.

However, both convicts were released in the same year after Islamabad High Court suspended Avenfield Sentence by Accountability Court. Even since PMLN was struggling to gain power and change some amendments to get relief from accountability.

Amendments were changed successfully after the PDM coalition ousted former Prime Minister Imran Khan. After years of struggle, following the changes in amendments Islamabad High Court declared the conviction of Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar illegal.
