Famous actor Feroz Khan slammed filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy after her remarks on Sonya Hussain. In an old interview in 2018 with Yasir Hussain, Sonya said that she would have rejected Raees.
“It’s not my dream to work with Shahrukh Khan,” Sonya replied to a question. She said that one must accept a prominent role, rather than being a sidekick.
The controversy caught fire when the filmmaker commented under the post of an Instagram page saying that “Don’t think you’ll be Mahira Khan.”She accused Sonya Hussain of disrespecting Mahira Khan. From Sharmeen’s point of view, Sonya is an unprofessional actress.
Responding to the filmmaker, Sonya in her Instagram story said, “Pulling one woman down while putting another in full view of the public and talking about upbringing. Freedom of speech related to work is not disrespectful.”
Feroz Khan also joined the argument showing his support for the actress.
He advised Sonya not to pay attention to the comments of Sharmeen. He also referred to the lawsuit filed by Rukhsana, an acid attack survivor that stated that she signed blank documents unknowingly and Sharmeen made her do that. She was kicked out of her home because of the film, and her family ceased communication with Rukhsana.
