Silsila Alikhil, 27, daughter of the Afghan ambassador to Pakistan, was reportedly kidnapped and tortured on Friday before being released. Imran Khan has set this matter as top priority directing Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed to utilise all state resources to investigate the matter and arrest the culprits.
Security has been tightened and Sheikh Rasheed has been directed by Imran khan to solve the issue on a priority basis, to set up Islamabad police and other law enforcement agencies to speed up the process. Family of the ambassador is continuously in touch and has been placed under high security.
The Afghan Government said on Saturday that she was tortured severely, giving no further details. She has now been released and is under medical care. Afghanistan government has demanded an investigation and international media has widely covered the story.
