Pakistan Can’t Host Afghan Refugees Anymore, Says NSA Moeed Yusuf

Pakistani National Security Advisor (NSA) Dr Moeed Yusuf held a press conference in the United States, Washington DC. NSA Moeed Yusuf said Pakistan can no longer host more refugees from Afghanistan.

He stated, there should be established a safe zone for displaced persons within the boundaries of Afghanistan. He also added Pakistan and the United States should work together to address the security concerns of the safe zone for Afghan refugees.

For decades Afghan soil has been used against Pakistan. Unfortunately, there are still some activities against Pakistan developing on Afghan soil, said Moeed Yousuf.

A similar statement was given by Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi that Pakistan had hosted more than 3 million Afghan refugees for decades, despite the fact that it was a burden on Pakistan’s economy. Now Pakistan does not have enough capacity to bear more refugees.
