43 Female Prisoners Who Were Confined By Kabul Regime And Forced To Provide Sexual Services To Officials Freed By Afghan Taliban

The Afghan Taliban captured the city of Taluqan on Sunday, the capital city of the northern Takhar province next to Tajikistan. Zabiullah Mujahed, the spokesperson of the Afghan Taliban, shared some pictures on social media showing Afghan Taliban waving their flag at the main square of Taluqan.

Marching towards the provincial administration compound, the Afghan Taliban took over the control of the entire province and reached the barracks of prison of Takhar, releasing the prisoners confined by the Kabul regime and Afghan National Army.

The Afghan Taliban also released 43 female prisoners from Takhar prison, most of them were under 30. The news became more alarming when some female prisoners were reported to be pregnant. According to the female prisoners, they were kept as sex workers and they were forced to provide personal service to Afghan National Army and police personnel.

Kabul regime confirmed that Takhar was attacked by Afghan Taliban and said that resistive force has been dispatched. But there was no confirmation by Kabul regime if Takhar province is under Afghan Taliban’s control or not.
