Relations between Russia and Israel are not unfriendly, but it’s getting complicated with every new development in the region. A recent statement by a Russian admiral indicates that Russia knows its strategic partner and is fully prepared to defend them by intercepting Israeli missiles through Russian missile-defense systems, protecting Iranian and Hezbollah assets in Syria.
Israel launched an attack on 19th July to destroy Iranian and Hezbollah facility in Syria, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit claimed that Russian missile-defense system intercepted 7 out of 8 Israeli missiles.
A few days after this incident, Israel launched four missiles but failed to hit any target because of another successful interception by Russian missile-defence system, said Admiral Kulit. Israel denied to comment on Russian interception, but they managed to spread pictures of a damaged Syrian site on social media.
