Ulema Council Demands Public Punishment Of Rapists

Pakistan Ulema Council held a consulting meeting regarding the growing cases of child abuse and women harassment in the different parts of the country. Religious scholars demanded speedy action against the perpetrators that the culprits should be punished publicly for their heinous crimes.

The joint declaration presided by the chairman Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi urged the Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Pakistan to take immediate and strict action against the culprits of the Minar-i-Pakistan incident, the Noor Mukadam case, the rickshaw harassment case in Lahore, and all the other reported cases of harassment in all the madrassahs, schools, and colleges.

Ulema also urged the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), and Ministry of Information to block all obscene content such as porn websites, social media pornographic contents, various vulgar advertisements, and any source responsible for the spread of obscenity and nudity in the country.

The council also demanded the Sharia rules to be ensured as obligatory in the country to save the societal morality in Pakistan.
