The War in Afghanistan is Over, The Final US Military Plane Has Left Kabul

The US completed its military withdrawal from Afghanistan after 2 decades of war that started soon after September 11 terrorist attacks in 2001. The Pentagon confirmed on Monday that US evacuation process is completely done as per the 31st August deadline.

US president Joe Biden also thanked the US military for their services in Afghanistan and said he will address the nation on Tuesday afternoon for not extending the 31st August deadline. He also added the United States carried out its greatest evacuation in the last 17 days, over 120,000 US citizens and other allies were evacuated from Afghanistan.

In the final days of evacuation, terrorists from ISIS-K group attacked the Kabul airport that killed 13 US military officials and dozens of Afghan nationals. The US military retaliated to foil other attacks by the terrorist group.

On Monday evening, the last US military C-17 cargo aircraft left Kabul International Airport and completed the evacuation process leaving the country in the hands of new Afghan government. However, US military commander for Afghanistan General McKenzie from US Marine Corps stated that the new Afghan government was not aware of the exact time of final departure of the US military.
