Shahid Rassam, an award-winning Pakistani artist, is likely to become a pioneer in a project to cast the Holy Quran with aluminum and gold-plated words.
In a press conference held at Pakistan Association Dubai, he told the media that he will use 200kg of gold and 2000kg of aluminum to cast 80,000 words on 550 pages.
Rassam intends to present Surah Rahman as part of the world’s largest Holy Quran to be showcased at Expo 2020 Dubai.
Rassam said, “I will display ‘Surah Rahman’ the heart of Holy Quran”. As a part of his creative concept that is in line with the Expo theme of ‘Connecting kinds, Connecting the future’.
The artist considers Dubai Expo 2020 the most appropriate platform to reveal his capabilities and creative work to millions of people.
Rassam is committed to complete the project by 2025 followed by the showcasing part of it at Dubai Expo 2020.
Rassam told the media about the conventional method of writing the Holy Quran on paper, cloth and animal skin. And that he took up the challenge to do something different and so far moving forward successfully.
