The wait is over, Pakistan took another major step to connect Pakistan with Turkey, Iran, and regional countries through train service.
Pakistan on Tuesday launched a cargo train service from Margalla Railway Station, Islamabad. The train service will boost the trade between Pakistan, Turkey, and Iran.
The freight train known as Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul (ITI) will start its journey from Islamabad and reach Zahedan, Iran. After arriving in Iran, the goods will be lifted by a Turkish train and it will reach its ultimate destination.
The ITI train is said to be one of the cheapest ways to transport goods between Pakistan, Iran, and Turkey. The director-general of ITI stated that it can carry up to 80,000 tonnes of goods.
