Corruption On Rising In Islamic Republic Of Pakistan, Reports Transparency International

Transparency International released a report on corruption perception index (CPI) 2021, On 25th January 2022. The report claimed that corruption levels remained at a standstill worldwide.

Pakistan lost 16 spots on the list over the last year and ranked 140 out of 180 countries. This shows that the government has failed to control corruption despite the popular Anti-Corruption rhetoric that PTI promulgated to gain power.

Pakistan scored 28/100 as compared to last year’s score that was 31/100. According to an official of transparency International in Pakistan, “Absence of rule of law has resulted in low CPI score of Pakistan”.

The leader of the opposition quickly tried to grab this opportunity to curse the government and demanded resignation from the government.
