Modi Govt Shuts Darul Uloom Deoband India’s Website Which Once Opposed The Creation Of Pakistan

In the course of an investigation into illegal Fatwas, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) had earlier asked the Uttar Pradesh Chief Secret to inspect Darul Uloom Deoband’s Islamic Seminary website. Darul Uloom Deoband allegedly published “unlawful and misleading fatwas”. The NCPCR asked the UP Chief Secretary to shut down the website until an inquiry into illegal Fatwas violating child rights was complete.

After receiving a complaint concerning illegal Fatwas, the NCPCR called the Saharanpur District magistrate. Within ten days, the action was supposed to be taken. But the investigation was more complicated and took much longer. Therefore, the DM issued a temporary injunction regarding the website. An investigation into the website is ongoing. Thus, Kanoongo said “the NCPCR had asked concerned officials to shut the website. He reiterated the children’s bodies had written to the UP Govt about the illegal Fatwas on children, which has now been dealt with. He added that the process was against the constitutional way of things and thus the action was necessary to stop the illegal event.”

“Noting complaint under section 13 (1) (j) of the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act, after reviewing the website and analyzing it, it discovered that the answers provided to the questions raised by the individuals were not consistent in accordance with the laws and statutes of the country,” the letter stated.

Before the formation of Pakistan, Maulana Hassan Ahmed Madani and some other scholars from Dar-ul-Uloom Deoband had opposed the creation of Pakistan, on the religion basis by the demand of muslim league although the real reason of their opposition was the desire to Islamize all India.
