Brazil’s tourism minister told reporters that no one was hurt.He added that he did not know when delegates could return to the negotiation area.Summit organizers also confirmed that the entire venue was evacuated.
Brazilian fire authorities ordered full safety checks. The UN climate body said it expected an update later in the afternoon.
COP30 was set to end on Friday, but talks had already missed a Wednesday deadline to reach key deals on climate finance and the shift away from fossil fuels, a delay that added pressure to the disrupted schedule.
