According to the FO, discussions included cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), trade relations, multilateral engagement, and people-to-people exchanges. The two foreign ministers also agreed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

In a separate statement, the FO said Dar and Wang jointly unveiled the official logo marking the 75th anniversary, signalling the start of year-long commemorative activities aimed at honouring the historic milestone in a “befitting and memorable manner”.

The previous round of the strategic dialogue was held in Islamabad in August last year, when Wang Yi met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari and Ishaq Dar. The FO said Vice Premier Ding appreciated Pakistan’s consistent support for China on issues of core national interest.

Both leaders highlighted the significance of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and agreed to use the occasion to chart a forward-looking vision for enhanced cooperation, particularly under CPEC. Ding also conveyed New Year greetings to the leadership and people of Pakistan.

Dar later met Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He congratulated Liu on the successful convening of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.

According to the FO, the two sides expressed satisfaction with the steady progress of bilateral relations and reviewed party-to-party exchanges, regional developments, and ongoing CPEC projects.

They also agreed to jointly commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties in a meaningful manner.Dar was received upon arrival in Beijing by China’s Special Representative on Afghanistan, Ambassador Yue Xiaoyong, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, and senior officials from the Pakistani Embassy.

Apart from the strategic dialogue, Dar is also participating in events marking the beginning of the 75th year of Pakistan–China diplomatic relations. Both countries plan to hold a series of initiatives and commemorative activities throughout 2026.

The Foreign Office said Dar’s visit reflects the regular high-level exchanges between the two countries and their shared determination to further expand cooperation, while reaffirming their commitment to regional peace, stability, and sustainable development.
