Pakistan’s military leadership has stressed the importance of restraint and respect for sovereignty as key elements for maintaining regional peace, amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the message was conveyed during the 275th Corps Commanders’ Conference held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. The meeting was chaired by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir.
The forum reviewed the evolving regional and global security environment, noting that recent geopolitical developments carry serious implications for stability. Military leaders underscored that avoiding escalation and exercising collective responsibility are essential to preventing further deterioration of the situation. They also highlighted Pakistan’s role in supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation.
The conference expressed satisfaction over the operational preparedness and professionalism of the armed forces, while commending ongoing intelligence-based counterterrorism operations across the country. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining momentum against militant networks, dismantling their infrastructure, and eliminating their operational capacity within Pakistan.
Discussing Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, the forum acknowledged continued progress in weakening terrorist groups and their support systems. It also criticized the Afghan Taliban leadership, accusing it of providing safe havens to militant elements, warning that such policies are proving counterproductive.
The military rejected allegations from the Afghan side claiming that Pakistan targets civilians, calling them part of a coordinated disinformation campaign intended to deflect attention from internal challenges. The forum maintained that Pakistan’s actions are precise and directed solely at militant threats.
The commanders also marked the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, describing it as a symbol of national unity and resolve. They reiterated that Pakistan remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty against any external aggression.
In addition, the forum condemned alleged human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming Pakistan’s continued political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri people.
In his concluding remarks, Field Marshal Asim Munir directed commanders to maintain high levels of vigilance and readiness, emphasizing the need for adaptability and coordinated responses to emerging threats.
The meeting concluded with prayers for fallen soldiers, law enforcement personnel, and civilians, with the military leadership paying tribute to their sacrifices and reaffirming their central role in Pakistan’s security and resilience.
