KARACHI: In a major crackdown on narcotics networks, Karachi Police have arrested a highly wanted female drug trafficker, Nargis alias Malka, just days after the high-profile capture of alleged drug kingpin Anmol alias Pinky, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
The operation was conducted in the Swati Mohalla area near Khudadad Graveyard following a tip-off from intelligence sources, according to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir, Abdul Khaliq Pirzada. During the raid, police recovered 35 kilograms and 265 grams of hashish (charas), with an estimated street value of over Rs60 million, along with more than Rs100,000 in cash from the suspect’s possession.
SSP Pirzada stated that Nargis alias Malka was part of an organized drug trafficking network responsible for supplying narcotics across Karachi and interior Sindh, targeting both residential neighborhoods and upscale areas. Investigations have revealed that the suspect had several accomplices operating in different parts of the city. Police have launched raids to apprehend other members of the gang and dismantle the entire network.
The arrest comes amid intensified police action against drug trafficking in Karachi, following the recent arrest of Anmol alias Pinky, who was allegedly involved in the production and distribution of high-grade cocaine across major cities including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Anmol, dubbed the ‘Cocaine Queen,’ was captured with a fully functional mobile drug laboratory, along with one kilogram of semi-prepared cocaine, cocaine capsules, and various chemical substances.
Authorities have vowed to continue operations against drug networks, with SSP Malir assuring that all facilitators and members of the syndicate will be brought to justice. The recent arrests highlight the scale of drug trafficking in Pakistan, which remains a significant challenge for law enforcement agencies. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Pakistan is a major transit and destination country for narcotics, with hashish being one of the most commonly trafficked substances.
Police have urged citizens to cooperate by providing information about drug activities, emphasizing that community involvement is crucial in combating the drug menace. The successful operation against Nargis alias Malka marks another step in Karachi Police’s efforts to curb illegal narcotics and ensure public safety.
