Mina Packing Guide: 10 Essentials for Pakistani Hajj Pilgrims

MINA: As over 118,000 Pakistani pilgrims arrive in Saudi Arabia for Hajj 2026, authorities have issued a packing guide to help devotees prepare for their stay in Mina, the tent city where the journey begins. The guide emphasizes lightweight, functional items to ensure pilgrims can move freely and focus on worship.

The 10 essential items recommended for carry-on bags include: a small mat for prayer and resting, the official Pakistani Hajj Card, the official wristband, the Nusuk Card, daily prescription medicines, a water bottle for hydration, sunglasses, an umbrella for sun protection, a mobile charger and power bank, and an extra set of clothes. Pilgrims are urged to keep bags minimal to facilitate mobility during rituals.

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, 96% of welfare staff—1,517 members—have assumed duties to provide services, guidance, and medical care. This includes 95% of Hajj assistants (Moavineen), 95% of Khuddam and technical staff, and 99% of the medical team, all stationed across sectors in Saudi Arabia. Haram Guides have already assisted 20,698 pilgrims around the Grand Mosque.

In Madinah, 38,594 Pakistani pilgrims (20,438 men and 18,156 women) have visited Riaz-ul-Jannah. Transport services have been scaled up, with 469 shuttle buses now operating in Makkah to move pilgrims between accommodations and the Haram Sharif. The highest transport activity is in Sectors 1, 7, and 8.

Hajj remains a physically demanding journey. Pilgrims are advised to stay hydrated and carry essential medications. The Saudi authorities have ensured medical facilities are available across all sectors. With proper preparation, Pakistani pilgrims can perform rituals in comfort and devotion.
