Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has declared that the sale of government jobs will not be allowed in the province, warning that no minister or secretary would be spared if credible evidence of such a practice emerges. The chief minister made the remarks while chairing a meeting of the secretaries’ committee on Thursday, according to Dawn News.
During the meeting, CM Bugti ordered an inquiry into complaints of irregularities in recruitment within the forest department. He said that anyone found guilty after an impartial investigation would face strict legal action, stressing that the government would not compromise on the employment rights of Balochistan’s youth.
The meeting also reviewed the performance and progress of provincial departments under the Annual Development Programme and examined recruitment procedures. Provincial ministers Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi and Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Chief Secretary Shakil Qadir Khan and other officials attended the meeting.
The chief minister stated that the government has made it clear that no job would be sold, adding that the government machinery was united on this policy. He directed officials to ensure transparency and merit in the entire recruitment process and warned that political pressure, favouritism or influence would not be tolerated.
He ordered the immediate implementation of the approved policy for merit-based recruitment through artificial intelligence for all posts from Grade 5 and above, with tests conducted locally and the Chief Minister’s Secretariat providing assistance. He urged officers to perform their duties honestly and impartially.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of development projects in the province. The chief minister’s directives come amid ongoing efforts to improve governance and service delivery in Balochistan.
