Prime Minister Imran Khan has warned that there is a sudden rise in active cases of COVID-19, indicating that the fourth wave is around the corner. As per the government’s COVID portal, daily active cases dropped last month from four digits to three digits, but the number of active cases started increasing at the start of this month and got doubled within a week.

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) confirmed there are three different variants present in Pakistan known as Beta variant from South Africa, the Alpha variant from the UK, and the Delta variant from India.

PM Imran Khan in a video message addressed the nation about the upcoming wave. He urged the nation to be careful as the Prime Minister fears the Indian variant is the biggest threat.

While thanking the nation for following SOPs after his previous message, PM recommended that everyone should continue to follow SOPs with the same routine especially in public areas to avoid the fourth wave of the pandemic before it’s too late.
