The Deadly Combination Of “Absolutely Not” And “Deep Pockets”

Another hot news about sport popped up recently during ENG VS PAK match in the ground of Lords, England, when one of the viewers raised his controversial plus humorous banner: ” Absolutely Not” and “Deep Pockets”. Well, someone did bring politics to the cricket ground in the bag of humour.

A proof that a person sitting on the ground has the eyes for cricket but brought his ears from politics, leaving behind the discussion of a suitable act or not. One cannot deny that the Pakistani narrative has gained its international power. The banner used two of the very popular lines, one by Prime minister Imran Khan and the other by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shah Mehmood Qureshi. In late June, Imran khan gave an interview to a foreign news network, when asked that whether Pakistan will allow America to conduct its counter-terrorism activities on Pakistani soil, clearly mentioned the Pakistani narrative in his words “Absolutely Not”, the words circulated through social media a lot and were in the headlines for a long time.

In May, while talking to CNN anchor Bianna Golodryga, when Shah Mehmood Qureshi mentioned that Israel is losing the media war despite their connections, the anchor asked what connections? Qureshi said the historic words with a smile on his face, “Deep Pockets”. The banner raised by viewers used both these famous lines.
