For several years University Of Health Sciences (UHS) was conducting MCAT in Punjab and different province was conducting MCAT according to their syllabus. Those were the times when MCAT was not essential to take admission in medical college. However, Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) hijacked and took control in 2020 and become NMDCAT.
In 2020, PMC conducted the first ever NMDCAT which was a huge blunder on which students protested because the test was out of the syllabus. This is how PMC has been hiding its flaws. This year PMC repeated the same mistake with their horrible policies. The failure ratio is higher than the last year.
The NMDCAT exam is held from 30 August to 30 September. Different students having exams on different dates on which different students have different papers with different difficulty levels. The test was again out of the syllabus with strange questions.
This is because of PMC’s unstable policies and faulty system, not even an average student but distinctive students and repeaters couldn’t attain the passing marks. On which students challenged President of PMC, Dr. Arshad Taqi, to pass the same entry test designed by PMC. Students also demand to reconduct exams or reduce the passing mark criteria for NMDCAT to reduce the failure ratio.
Students also said, with such average results it is possible to get admission to foreign universities and their policies are far better than Pakistan’s education system. Hence it is easier to become a doctor in foreign countries.
