Former Director General Inter Services Intelligence (DG ISI) Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed has been appointed as Corps Commander XI, also known as Corp Peshawar.
After completing his tenure as DG ISI, Lt General Faiz Hameed has been posted as Corps Commander Peshawar.
Lt General Faiz Hameed served as 24th Director General of Inter Services Intelligence. He was appointed as DG ISI in 2019.
According to Army tradition, a three-star general has to command a corp in order to become Army Cheif in the future. Therefore, this posting is another step closer for the Ex-DG ISI to become Army Cheif.
Lt General Faiz Hameed is one of the senior most generals in the Pakistan Army and is expected to be the next army chief of the Pakistan Army after General Bajwa’s retirement.
