Nearly after 2 decades, Pakistan is going to host an international cricket tournament. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that Pakistan will host the 2025 Champions Trophy.
The announcement was made after ICC confirmed 14 countries that will host the Champions Trophy from 2024-2031. The last time Pakistan hosted an ICC event in 1996, it was the 50-over World Cup co-hosted with India and Sri Lanka.
International cricket in Pakistan was suspended due to the attack on the Sri Lankan team touring Pakistan in Lahore. The ICC board and ICC management accepted the recommendation of these 14 countries after reviewing each bid.
