The kind of language students are using makes me feel ashamed, says Federal Minister for Education

Federal Minister for Education, Shafqat Mahmood, while talking about the students who are against government’s decision regarding conducting of Cambridge International examinations in Pakistan, said that the kind of language students are using is a failure of parents, teachers and governments.

He said that it was really upsetting to see the kind of language students were using on Twitter to record their protest against these examinations. While talking to a local TV channel about developing situation as a result of third wave of covid-19, Shafqat Mahmood said that it was very shameful to see students who were barely 16 to 17 years old using this kind of language. Federal Minister said all provincial Minister agreed with this decision regarding the exams and said that we shouldn’t delay it further.

Talking about rising cases of covid-19 Shafqat Mahmood said that he was not an expert in this field that he could comment on it but being the education minister it was his responsibility to highlight the importance of conducting examinations. When Shafqat was asked about online exams, he replied that Cambridge International Examinations never gave them an option of online exams and they have never conducted online exams in any part of the world however some universities conducted online exams because their classes were also online that time.
