Senator Azam Swati was arrested last after he criticized the army cheif at that time , General Qamar Javed Bajwa and hd him responsible for the economic and political chaos.
Swati was illegally arrested and multiple FIRs were launched against him including sedition charges. The senator was sexually tortured. Later, he said that some people are blackmailing him by his Private videos.
Last year in December, Pakistan Tehreek E Insaf filled a petition in IPU to hear the case of the inhumane torture on Azam Swati. The petition has named General Bajwa as well as other strong individuals.
IPU has accepted PTI’s petition to hear the case in it’s session held in January.
