In a significant move, Multan Sultans is set to make history in Pakistan’s T20 cricket scene by appointing its first-ever female general manager. This marks a remarkable transition as Hijab Zahid, a journalist, steps into the shoes of the departing Haider Azhar.

Following the unfortunate passing of franchise owner Alamgir Tareen last month, his nephew Ali Tareen, who was previously a co-owner, is stepping in to assume full control of the team’s ownership.

At the youthful age of 28, Hijab Zahid is poised to take on the role of the youngest general manager within the PSL. Her impressive journey has led her to her current position as the director of Grassroots Cricket, where she has been serving since the beginning of the year. Armed with a master’s degree in Project Management from the University of Hertfordshire, Zahid’s diverse experiences include her tenure as a media manager for Islamabad United.In embracing this new era, Multan Sultans not only reshapes its leadership structure but also sets a groundbreaking example for diversity and inclusion within the world of cricket administration.
