Turkiye Calls Israel The Greatest Threat To Regional Stability

Turkey’s foreign ministry has issued a scathing statement, condemning Israel as the “greatest threat to regional security” following intensified Israeli airstrikes in Syria.

Turkey accused Israel of being a “strategic destabilizer” that’s “causing chaos and feeding terrorism”.

The statement called for Israel’s full withdrawal from Syria and an end to its “expansionist policies,” emphasizing that peace in the region is impossible otherwise. This comes after Israeli airstrikes targeted military installations in Hama and the T-4 airbase, as well as other military facilities around Damascus.

Syrian officials also blasted the Israeli strikes, accusing Israel of deliberately working to destabilize the country. Syria’s Foreign Ministry stated that the Israeli actions are “an unjustified escalation which is an intentional attempt to undermine the stability in Syria”.

The clash follows Israeli accusations that Turkey aims to turn Syria into a de facto protectorate. In response, Turkey warned that Israel is undermining regional stability. Israel has ramped up strikes near Damascus and Lebanon, citing threats from Iran-backed militias.

The situation has escalated tensions between Turkey and Israel, with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan launching a tirade against Israel, branding it a “terror state”. The conflict has also sparked concerns about regional stability and the potential for further escalation.
