Five Children Injured in Quadcopter Attack in KP’s Lakki Marwat

LAKKI MARWAT: At least five children were injured after explosives were dropped from a quadcopter in the Takhtikhel area of Lakki Marwat on Tuesday, officials said.

According to Police Sub-Inspector Akhto Jan, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak Police Station. He said the attack is believed to have been carried out by militants using a quadcopter to drop explosive material.

“Explosives released from the quadcopter injured five minors,” the officer said, adding that two of the injured boys were shifted to a hospital in Bannu due to the seriousness of their injuries.

Officials from Rescue 1122 confirmed that the remaining three injured children, all girls, were taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

Police teams reached the scene shortly after the incident and launched a search operation in the surrounding areas to trace those responsible. Authorities said security personnel were combing the locality to locate the suspected attackers.

The incident comes roughly a month after a similar attack in the Takhti area of the district, where eight boys were injured when explosives dropped from a quadcopter struck a football ground.

Police officials had said militants targeted the playground while children were playing, leaving several minors wounded in the blast.
